It’s ok to be a work in progress. I am not everything that I preach. I am a combination of contradictions. Particularly with regards to self-care, self-love and self-acceptance. But just because I haven’t got myself where I want to be yet, it does not mean I am not going to encourage other people along the way.
Strong people build each other up, rather than tear each other down.
God probably doesn’t exist. I can’t say he doesn’t and I am not against religion. We are allowed different beliefs about religion without being at war.
The statement “happiness is a choice” is correct only to an extent.
People are good.
One person can change the world.
The five food groups.
- You should eat all five food groups
- If you avoid any food group you are missing out
- The best two food groups are carbs and fats
- The best carb is rice krispies. If you are going to limit your carb intake, you should limit it to rice krispies only.
- The best fat is peanut butter and if you are only going to eat one food for the rest of your life, you should eat peanut butter.
Everything happens for a reason and that reason is usually you. Destiny and fate and luck don’t exist.
It’s not hard to be nice. The smallest of things can turn a persons day around.
Things you dislike in other people probably signify something deeper about you.
Sprinkles are pointless bits of crap that ruin ice cream and most other foods (unless they are featured in unicorn themed desserts, in which case they are magical).
Life doesn’t have to be all rainbows and butterflies to be amazing.
There are some pretty damn amazing women out there, and these include/have included:
- Taryn Brumfitt
- Sara Pascoe
- Mel Wells
- Michelle Obama
- Anne Frank
- Sylvia Plath
- Margaret Atwood
- Maya Angelou
- Malala Yousifazi
Body acceptance is more important than body positivity.
Perfect does exist. Imperfections are perfect. I find imperfections are what makes a person perfect.
You should never be made to feel like you are too much; or that you need to be less. Your voice is important and deserves to be heard. You cannot be too passionate or too interested and anyone who says otherwise is wrong.
- Should make you feel good
- Should be enjoyable
- Should be about having fun and celebrating what your body can do, not how many calories you can burn in 60 minutes of cardio hell
- Should be mixed up – you don’t have to be a weight person OR a cardio person. You don’t have to be an indoor exerciser OR an outdoor exerciser. You don’t have to be a user of weight machines OR a non-user. You can do it all.
- Is not an obligation
- Does not make you better than anyone else
- Isn’t necessarily healthy
Family does not = you have to accept anything and everything and love them no matter what if that no matter what is harmful to you as a person. People that believe you do usually come from the nearest to a “perfect” family as you get. If someone is causing you emotional or physical harm, or has, you do not have to keep them in your life because they are genetically related to you. Blood is not thicker than water, necessarily.
Abortion is an individuals choice and has nothing to do with you (unless you are the person) and therefore this deserves no further discussion with regards to my opinion because the only opinion I am entitled to is whether I should have an abortion. The same goes for sexual orientation and any other personal situation that doesn’t affect anyone else’s life other than the person it involves. You are not entitled to an opinion on everything.
Harry Potter is the best thing in the world and anyone that says otherwise is lying and anyone who hasn’t read the books should be put in jail for the rest of their existence. (This is an opinion I am not willing to budge on, the rest I’ll consider your views).
Comparison is the thief of all joy.
Disguising restrictive eating habits under the title of ‘clean eating‘ or whatever probably ain’t healthy.
You really shouldn’t judge a person until you know their story.
Unicorns are real.
Some foods are good for the soul and that is as important as foods that are good for your body.
Bank holidays are stupid. So are Sundays.
Sometimes our own personal beliefs or opinions can be challenged, and we can change our minds. We are allowed to do that.
